Many this season will pass someone serving with the Salvation Army. Yesterday evening, I approached an older man ringing a bell next to my local grocery store. It was as if our Lord and Savior said, ‘Ask him.’ I said, ‘Sir, have you had dinner this evening?’ To my surprise, the man replied he had not eaten much. Some chips and soda for the day. Hundreds of individuals exiting the store. Many with wallets full and a pantry overflowing. Often times, it is a simple question which will reveal much. Please ‘listen’ to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. You will find yourself being blessed in the process. And this message is simply to boast in Him. As His blessings often come unexpectedly, even if it is exiting a store. Thank You Lord for your leading, and may You be glorified. Although we are not to share what our left hand may be doing as our right hand may extend a helping hand/meal, I do so to encourage others to listen to Your promptings Lord as followers of You. And as You share in Your Word, we are blessed more to give than receive.
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
